Excellent service at Hartge. I prefer them to Herrington which is a little farther down the bay. The staff has always treated my boat well.

Installed a teak grate in the center cockpit of a Morgan Out-Island 41. Stunning workmanship. I wanted to get some of the plastic look out of the cockpit, and make it more comfortable to go barefoot. Bernhard is a master in working with teak and other woods -- I had seen some of his work around the docks. The final product has gotten a lot of compliments from landlubbers and experienced skippers alike. Came in on schedule, but due to some adjustments in measurements and modifications required due to not quite plumb lines (when is a 90 degree angle not 90 degrees? When it is on a boat.) the cost of work went way over the estimate. However, I was employing a craftsman and an artist, not a rough carpenter, so I am okay with that. Highly recommended.

Not only are they good at what they do but they can distill things down so that you can understand the issue. Hard to come by these days! Typically you find someone on craigslist, they give you the run around and use fancy terms to confuse you. Not these guys! My husband was determined to fix it himself at first and understand the boat. My husband was back and forth with them for a month. Finally we brought the boat in and they were able to relieve my husband of the stress. Fixed in a week and back on the water! Wish we had brought it in sooner...

I have used them to winterize and store the motor and canopy for years. They also re-install this equipment and commission every spring. They are beyond excellent in their service.
