Ashley River Boatworks is located near Charleston, South Carolina. We are a full-service restoration and repair shop. We can do wood or fiberglass repair, structural work, engine, electrical and systems work. Tim Taylor, founder, is a recent graduate of The Landing School of Boatbuilding and Design in Kennebunk, Maine. While there, he studied for 2 years concentrating on marine systems and boat building. He has worked on plumbing systems, propulsion, engine maintenance and repair, electrical systems, including installation and repair. During his year in the boat building section, he built a 22 ft. cold-molded fly fishing boat that has been featured in and awarded by WoodenBoat magazine. Check it out here. Tim is a certified ABYC Master Technician and is qualified in Marine Systems, Electrical Systems, and Diesel Engines. Before working on boats took over his life, Tim worked as a CPA, owned a software development company, owned a truss manufacturing plant, and drove an 18 wheeler for a while. His passion is for beautiful, simple boats that simply work well.
