Welcome to Duncan’s Boats Your Lowcountry Family Boating Center for 50 Years We have the widest selection of boats for your family in the Lowcountry. While many dealers concentrate on one type of boat, we concentrate on one type of boater, the family boater. The boat business has had a phenomenal year and as a result, inventory is scare and production lead times are much longer than normal. While our inventory is very low, at Duncan’s Boats we have a few available production slots. We are happy to offer virtual walk throughs of the inventory in stock and have stock walk through videos on most available boats. It may take longer to get your boat, but you could build it to meet your special needs. SERVICE DEPARTMENT 20-HOUR CHECK Many engine manufacturers recommend a 20 hour or “Break In” service, including Mercruiser and Yamaha. This service includes changing engine and drive oil and inspection/adjustment of the engine and drive train to ensure proper break in and wear. BATTERY REPLACEMENT We offer Battery Load testing services to check the health of your batteries. We can remove batteries to charge and re-check if necessary. We are an interstate Battery Dealer, offering both Cranking & Deep Cycle Battery options to meet your needs if Battery Replacement is required. BOAT LAUNCH & HAUL-OUT Being located on the Ashley River, we offer haul out service when we work on your boat. This means that there is no need to hassle with your trailer if you keep your boat in a marina or on a lift. Please call ahead to determine our haul out limitations and to get a quote for this service. ELECTRICAL REPAIR & INSTALLATION At Duncan’s Boats we provide services for Diagnosing & Repairing 12 Volt DC systems. We don’t specialize in complete rewiring of boats and certain AC systems. If the repair is beyond our normal scope of work, we can provide recommendations on who to use. OUTBOARD ANNUAL MAINTENANCE We are authorized dealers who specialize in Preventative Maintenance Services on Yamaha and Mercury outboards. The dealer advantage of hooking up Mercury and Yamaha Diagnostic software to pull hours, check for trouble codes, and assess the state of engine health during your annual preventative maintenance allows us to catch issues before they become problems(often during your standard warranty period) From Yearly(100 Hour) Fluid/Filter change services, Comprehensive(300 Hour) Services including water pumps, ignition tune-ups, & cooling system component replacement. SHRINK WRAPPING For Winter Season Protection, Shrink wrap is the best means of protecting your boat from the snow and ice during those long, cold, and windy winter months. SPRING START-UP Many boats don’t get much use during the winter holiday season. We offer a spring start up service where we will assess the condition of the boat systems, engine running condition, and river test the boat to catch any issues before the first trip out with friends and family. Contact us for Spring Start Up Services today. WINTERIZATION- I/O AND STERN DRIVES Unlike outboard motors, the cooling passages in Sterndrive Motors are horizontal. This doesn’t promote natural draining of the cooling system when trimmed down. We recommend running antifreeze through the motor to provide freeze protection during harsh winter months. Fuel systems not being used over several months have the potential to build up varnish & corrosion inside the lines. Injectors sitting static also have the potential to stick. Our mixture run through the fuel system helps prevent both of these from occurring. WINTERIZATION - OUTBOARDS Outboards with self draining cooling systems don’t have as many concerns for freeze damage as I/O and Sterndrive counterparts. There are however many off season storage considerations. The boat fuel tank must be treated & outboard fuel system treated to prevent seizing of fuel injection components from lack of use. Carbureted outboards must be treated to prevent internal components from sticking and fuel phase separating, leading to costly repairs down the road.
